Description
WW2 German Azad Hind “ Hero of India”. This is an excellent, and extremely rare cases piece of WW2 history. The Free India Corps was established in 1942 under the command of Subhas Chandra Bose. Legion Fries Indian was composed of Indian nationals, and captured Indian volunteer British Commonwealth Soldiers. To serve in the German military under the Heer. Later on in the war they were folded into the Waffen SS in 1944, and primarily served in France to hunt down French partisans. This exquisite piece is extremely beautiful, and in fine condition. The case shows minor wear , and fading over the years. Rudolf Souval of Vienna weee the only contractor to produce these medals. This is a WW2 period piece, and a nice example of a Waffen SS award.
