Cobalt Blue Uranium Carnival Glass Christ Medallion Christmas Window Ornament
A vintage cobalt blue uranium carnival glass Jesus Christ medallion/plaque. It fluoresces under SWUV light and has an iridescent finish on the front (carnival glass). Great for a window sun catcher or tree ornament. Brand new/unused condition with no chips or cracks. Measures approximately 4″ tall x 3″ wide x 1/2″ thick.
Just a note: Unlike with other medallions of this type, the glass of the ornaments I have listed is coated with a carnival glass finish (giving it the rainbow sheen). That finish inhibits the penetration of UV light to the glass. Where the coating is thin (on the back), it will fluoresce under SWUV light (see attached pic below). Do not expect it to glow brightly like with uncoated glass, and it will not fluoresce under simple black light.
